Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 Honda Accord

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the CURT four-pole trailer wiring harness on a 2019 Honda Accord. If you're adding the hitch to any vehicle, it might be worth picking up four pole trailer wiring harness. That way if you ever plan on pulling a trailer, you know if you have to move some stuff or some activities come your way where you need to hook up to it, this is gonna keep you safe and legal by giving you running lights, turn signals and brake lights to the taillights on the trailer. Now this one is fairly easy to get installed because it uses factory style plugs that tap into your taillights by simply just snapping into place. Now this is module protected as well as fuse protected. So if you have any faulty trailer wiring, it's not gonna back feed into the wiring and cause damage to your factory turn signals or lights or anything like that. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2022 Honda Accord

Hey guys, Kevin at etrailer. It's family showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Connector four pole wiring harness here on our 2022 Honda Accord. A four pole wiring harness is one of the main components whenever you're trying to tow a trailer, a bike rack that has lights on it or a cargo carrier that's gonna have lights on it because that's what's going to allow you to transfer your running lights, your turn signals and your brake lights from your vehicle over to the trailer, so you can remain street legal. This particular wiring harness is powered by a ModuLite and what that means is that it's going to properly transfer the separate wiring signals that you have on your vehicle to the combined wiring that's gonna be on your trailer. And that basically means that it's gonna just transfer that separate braking and turning signals into one wire and properly do that for the trailer so that you remain legal and so that everybody can understand exactly what you're trying to do when you're going down the road. Typically, most four pole wiring harnesses are going to pull power from your tail lights. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2009 Honda Accord, we're gonna be installing the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connection, part number 118420.The Tekonsha T Connector is going to allow our Accord to hook up to our trailer with a 4-Pole flat connection and give all the trailer it's basic lighting functions. Things like your running lights, your brake lights, and your turn signals. It ties into our tail lights on our Accord with a simple plug and play design, which means there's no splicing and no modifications needed to be done. One of the nice things about this wiring harness is, it has an integrated convertor box and what that's gonna do is it's gonna protect your Accord from any overloads or electrical shorts coming from your trailer. It simply stows underneath your trunk, near your spare tire. When you're ready to connect it to a trailer, we can simply draw it out, unbundle it and we're going to run it over our threshold. Now if you're worried about this, no need to worry, because the weather stripping is gonna give it enough padding to where it will not get crushed once our rear hatch is closed. You will want to be sure to stay away from that latch. more

The brown wire here is for our taillight and running light circuit. On that circuit we have 5.6 amps of power output, which is more than sufficient to tow a small trailer with several incandescent light bulbs, or basically as many LEDs as we want, because LED lights do draw less power. Today on our 2012 Honda Accord well be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with Four-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118420. To begin with well need to go ahead and raise the trunk hatch on the vehicle. Well then need to go ahead and remove a few things out of the rear of the trunk. In this case we had a plastic cover that covered the whole trunk area. Well also need to go ahead and lift up the spare tire cover and its helpful if you go ahead and set the foam area that holds the jack as well as some other tools to change a spare tire out of the way. Next were going to go ahead and remove the center threshold section of plastic here by using a trim panel removal tool or large flathead screwdriver being careful not to break any clips on the underside. There are a total of four clips underneath, two on either side of the center trunk latch. Now that weve got our center threshold out of the way next were going to need to remove a total of three fasteners from either side of the vehicle to pull the interior back out the trunk. You use a flathead screwdriver and unscrew two of them and then you can remove the push fastener that way. The one on the bottom of the trunk youll actually need a large flathead screwdriver or a trim panel removal tool to get this one out. With these three removed you can peel back the interior of the trunk just enough to get your hand in there and make our connection as well as mount our converter box and make our ground connection. more

The connection points are actually located behind the tail light assembly, so we are going to need to remove this rear threshold piece. There are push rivets located here that are holding the threshold piece on. I am going to take a flat-bladed screwdriver and just gently pull up. OK, next I am going to go ahead and remove the carpeting. To do so, there are two Phillips-head screws that we are going to take out. We are going to remove the plastic plugs that are in here as well, and that will allow us to pull the carpeting back here.
